For hole in one contests, there are three different categories for the witnesses requirements. The number of witnesses and whether or not you need video are determined by the value of the prize for which you purchased hole in one insurance.
Any prize valued from $2,000 to $59,999 will require one person, who is over the age of 18, and not playing in the tournament to be sitting at the hole. For prizes valued from $60,000 to $99,999, you will need two people, over the age of 18, who are not playing in the golf tournament. One of these witnesses will need to be sitting at the tee box and the other will need to be sitting at the hole. The third and final prize value bracket is $100,000 or greater. For prizes in this category you will again need two people, over the age of 18, who are not playing in the tournament. One of these witnesses will need to be either a PGA Professional or a Police Officer. One witness will need to be at the tee box and the other will need to be at the hole. You will also need continuous, unedited video that must be shot from behind the green. The use of a tripod is encouraged as it is not necessary to track the ball in the air.
In the event, that your golf tournament has 24 or less golfers and you have purchased hole in one insurance for $25,000 or greater, you will also be required to videotape all shots. Video will be shot from behind the green and there is no need to track the ball while in flight. Regular witness requirements will still apply based on the value of the prize for which you have purchased hole in one coverage.
For putting contests, all prize values require continuous, unedited videotape. The video must show the measurement of the putt. In the event that you have purchased putting coverage for multiple golfers, you will need to make sure that each putt is fifteen feet (15 feet) apart from each other around the circumference of the hole. Once the measurement(s) has been recorded, you will want to keep the camera running and back up so that you can capture the golfer(s) that has been selected for the putt, the length of the putt, and the hole, with the flag pulled.
